Our Summer Playground program is designed around you and your needs as a family. We work hard to be mindful of your schedules, both at work and while planning your summer vacations. Making sure that your children feel welcomed and included is our top priority, and and we strive to make sure your child has an unforgettable summer! Summer Playground is a safe, Christ-centered atmosphere where children will grow in friendships, knowledge, and in their walk with God through group activities, guest speakers, journaling, and daily prayer & devotions.

  • To help your child avoid the "summer slide," we intend to incorporate learning activities throughout the day. We will pull activities from different subjects such as history, science, language arts, and more! Each week will incorporate a different theme and various activities, snacks, Show & Tell, and [at times] field trips to enhance the idea of the weekly theme. Stay tuned for monthly calendars highlighting each of the themes.

Additionally, we want this time to be spiritually nourishing for your child! Each morning will begin with a time of prayer, and we will invite the kids to not only submit prayer requests on behalf of themselves or loved ones, but also to begin learning to pray for the individual needs of fellow campers.

As in prior years, we will also have a morning devotional, and journal time to reflect on what stood out to them from the devotion. This reflection creates meaningful intention, and the children love sharing what it was that they took away from each of the daily devotionals.

Does your child struggle with certain subjects? As an added bonus, we also have tutoring available through Faith Christian School for students who may need extra help throughout the summer. For information on tutoring, please see the complete Summer Playground informational packet.

  • Once you’ve completed the Google registration form*, a member of our staff will send you an email with the link to your FREE Brightwheel account. This account is where you will be able to receive picture/video updates, teacher messages and notes, billing information, and much more!

Once your account has been created, the $50 family registration fee will be billed to your account, and you will have the option of paying by credit card on the app, or by cash/check in person. The same methods of paying apply to bill-paying over the summer as well.

If you have already had a student enrolled in our program before, you will not need to create a new Brightwheel account; the family registration fee will be added to your account once this form is completed and will need to be paid before your child can attend Summer Playground.

Students registered by MAY 17 will receive a free t-shirt on his/her first day of camp. We cannot guarantee that children registered after 5/17 will receive a t-shirt.

*A separate registration will need to be completed for each child you wish to register into our program.

  • Summer Playground will begin June 3rd and end on August 16th (we will be closed July 4th & 5th), and we cater to children who are entering Kindergarten through sixth grade. Our weekly rate is $180 with a 10% per child discount after the first child. If you do not wish to use our program full time, we have rates for 1-4 days:

    1 day= $50

    2 days= $90

    3 days= $130

    4 days= $160

    5 days= $180

Our Summer Playground hours are 8:00am-3:30pm. We also offer After Care hours from 3:30pm-6pm. After Care is an additional $5/hour. Billing is done weekly on Monday for the prior week. The due date for that bill is the following Monday. It is expected that we will receive payment by the due date. If the payment is late by 2 weeks, then the child is no longer able to attend Summer Playground until the balance is paid in full OR a formal written/signed payment plan is put in place with Michelle Berlin (Director) or Libby Abberger (Assistant Director).

  • We are planning to do field trips and other fun things throughout the summer in order to keep things fun and break up the weeks. We will finalize costs and dates for each trip as summer approaches and we send home a calendar. Once the program starts, we will send home field trip forms at least one week prior to each field trip that will need to be filled out and returned. All forms and payment for the field trip will need to be turned in BEFORE a child is permitted to leave campus.

  • Parents are responsible for packing lunch and two snacks (morning and afternoon) for their child(ren) each day. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know.

Additionally, we ask that all children who attend Summer Playground bring a water bottle with them each day since we spend a lot of time outdoors and want to ensure that the children stay properly hydrated.

  • We ask that all children be dressed in respectful clothing. Shorts are to come to the top of the knee. Crop tops, spaghetti straps, and strapless tops are not permitted. Dress guidelines for our water days will be communicated and sent home prior to the activity.

Cell phones, tablets, and other toys are encouraged to be left at home. Faith Baptist Church will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items. Swearing and bullying will not be tolerated at Summer Playground, as well as disrespecting other children or adults.

  • To ensure the safety of your child, we ask that you escort your child(ren) into and out of the building each day. You will check each child in and out each day with your 4-digit Brightwheel code on the Summer Playground tablet. All approved pick-up persons must be listed in Brightwheel, along with a photo ID present at pickup.

The safety of your children is our top priority so we will not release your child to someone that is not listed as an approved pick-up person in Brightwheel.

  • Families must fill out a medication form for each child if any medication is to be dispensed to your child throughout the day. This includes the application of sunscreen, lotions, sprays (bug spray), etc. All medication must be clearly labeled with the child's first and last name and it must be in the original container.

ALSO HAPPENING THIS SUMMER…

We are running and Band and Choral Camp again this summer! The children’s chorus would be from 4 years old to 4th grade. Payment for the camp will be separate from what you pay each week for Summer Playground since it is run through a separate ministry.

Students will be dropped off at camp as usual in the morning, and then staff will walk the children down to where the band camp takes place on our campus. The band camp is only a half day, so a staff member will return the children to Summer Playground midday after the band camp ends.
